Questions on the registration process

  • When should I register my child for a childcare place?
    The sooner, the better.
    Central registration list desk
  • Do I need to supply my child’s name and date of birth together with the application even if he/she hasn’t been born yet?
You do not need to provide the name, of course. Please indicate the estimated due date and the date on which you would like your child to start at the childcare centre, as this makes planning easier for us.
  • If I apply for a place at more than one childcare centre, do I need to complete a separate registration form for each one?
No – you are also welcome to indicate an order of priority for the childcare centres you have applied for.
  • Do I need to complete a separate registration form for each child?
Yes, you do need to complete a separate registration form for each child.
  • Do I also need to obtain approval from HR when registering a sibling?
Yes. This relates to internal applications.

Questions about the registration list

  • How do I know when my application has been put on the central registration list?
As soon as you have been placed on the central registration list, you will receive a confirmation e-mail explaining what will happen next.
  • Will I lose my place on the registration list if I change the date on which I want my child to start, the number of days or any other details of my application and do I need to complete a new application form for such changes?
No – you can make changes at any time by e-mailing email hidden; JavaScript is required.

  • How can I find out what position I’m in on the list and how long I will have to wait for my childcare place?
The waiting time depends on various factors, including the age of the child, the days on which you require childcare, the childcare centre’s location and the parents’ flexibility. You will be informed as soon as a place that meets your needs becomes available. If other applicants are also eligible for the same place, our decision will be based on the date on which we received the application. Since we have a three-month notice period, this is usually how long it takes for new places to become available.
  • How is it possible that someone who registered after me gets a childcare place?
IThis means that the available place(s) does/do not meet your requirements. For this reason, we recommend being as flexible as possible (see next question).
  • How can I improve my chances of getting a childcare place?
Choose all childcare centres that are an option for you (and provide an order of priority). The more flexible you are with regard to location and days of the week, the greater your chances of getting a place. If you are looking for childcare for four days a week, for example, but would accept less at first, please note this on your application. If you are looking for childcare for four days a week but it is possible for you to start with less, it is always worth taking up such an offer. Priority is given to requests for children who already have a place.
  • How quickly will I find out whether I will get a childcare place?
Since we have a three-month notice period, we can usually assess the situation at the various childcare centres three months in advance. We will contact you straight away when a childcare place that meets your requirements becomes available.

Questions about rates and costs

  • Where can I find out about the internal rates?
Please e-mail our central registration list desk and we will send you the form for calculating the internal rates.

  • Do I still have to pay for the days I have booked if my child is ill and I can provide a medical certificate?
Yes, you must pay for the days you have booked both in the event of illness and if you go away on holiday.
  • What do I have to do if I move to a new position within the company?
As an employee of an Association member, you benefit from subsidised rates. We would therefore be grateful if you could inform us of your new department and cost centre for invoicing purposes. If the HR department responsible for you also changes, please inform the responsible HR employee that you are using our childcare services for one or more of your children.
  • What do I have to do if my income changes?
Childcare fees are income-based, so a recalculation is required every time your salary changes. We therefore ask that you send your latest salary statement to the childcare centre management as soon as possible. However, if you are paying the maximum rate and would like to continue doing so, it is not necessary for you to inform us of any changes. If you fail to submit a salary statement in time, any higher childcare costs will be invoiced retrospectively. However, any excessive fees you have been paying cannot be reimbursed (only applies to employees of Association members).

Various

  • Can I already go back to work during the acclimatisation period?
We have a three to four-week acclimatisation period during which one parent or guardian must be present at the childcare centre or available to come in. During this period, the child is gradually introduced to the daily routine at the childcare centre. It is essential that this happens in the presence of a parent or guardian the child is close to. We therefore recommend that you plan your return to work in such a way that a parent or guardian is available during this period.
  • Can I change the days on which my child is at the childcare centre according to my work schedule?
No – the days you have booked are fixed and will be charged.
  • Is it possible to change to a different childcare centre (location) at a later date?
If you would like to change to a different childcare centre, you must submit an application form. This form can be obtained from the responsible childcare centre manager or the central registration list desk.
  • Can childcare centre places be passed on to other parents or swapped?
No – places are only made available via the central registration list.
  • Will I lose my place at the childcare centre if I no longer work for an Association member?
No, it goes without saying that you will be able to keep the place. You will be charged external rates, however.
  • What to do in case my child is ill?
